Bourbon Peach BBQ Sauce

This is hands down the the easiest, best, Bourbon Peach BBQ Sauce that you will make!!  The peaches give it just the right amount of sweetness to pair with the tanginess of the sauce making it the perfect taste of summer.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 large shallots, diced
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 3 peaches, peeled and sliced, or 1 lb. frozen
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • In a large sauce pot add vegetable oil and shallots and cook until soft, about 3-4 minutes. 
  • Add bourbon and cook for an additional minute. 
  • Add peaches and water and cook until tender. 
  • Using an emersion blender and puree until smooth.  If you do not have an emersion blender, puree in a food processor – just remember that the hot sauce will expand!
  • Add remaining ingredients to pot and cook over medium heat until thickened.  About 5 minutes.
