Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspooohn ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds optional garnish

Instructions

  • Season chicken with salt, pepper, cornstarch, ground ginger, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Toss well to coat.
  • Add the orange juice, soy sauce, and honey and combine well.  If you have time, cover and marinate for 30 minutes.  If not, no worries, just move on the next step.
  • Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes per side. Set aside momentarily.
  • Pour the orange and soy glaze mixture into the skillet, bringing it to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to low and return the chicken breasts to the skillet, coating them with the glaze.
  • Allow the chicken to simmer in the glaze for about 5-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and let the chicken rest for a few minutes.
  • Serve the orange and soy glazed chicken, garnished with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
