Picture this: succulent pieces of tender chicken bathed in a luscious glaze that combines the zesty brightness of oranges with the savory depth of soy sauce. The result is a harmonious blend of flavors that will awaken your senses and make your mouth water.   To create this mouthwatering dish, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup of orange juice
  • 1/4 cup of low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: sesame seeds

Let’s Get Cooking!

Cut the chicken breasts into bite size pieces and season well with salt and pepper. This step will ensure that every bite is infused with flavor.

Orange and Soy Chicken

Add the baking soda, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes and toss well to coat.

Orange and Soy Chicken

Add the orange juice, soy sauce, and honey and combine well.  If you have time, cover and marinate for 30 minutes.  If not, no worries, just move on the next step.  This aromatic blend will not only act as our amazing marinade but will also be the foundation of our tantalizing glaze.

Orange and Soy Glazed Chicken

Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes per side. Set aside momentarily.

Orange and Soy Chicken

Pour the orange and soy glaze mixture into the skillet, bringing it to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to low and return the chicken breasts to the skillet, coating them with the glaze.

Orange and Soy Chicken

Allow the chicken to simmer in the glaze for about 5-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). This will ensure that the chicken is cooked through and infused with the delightful flavors of the glaze.

Orange and Soy Chicken

Remove the skillet from the heat and let the chicken rest for a few minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld together and ensure optimal tenderness.

Serve the orange and soy glazed chicken, garnished with a sprinkle of sesame seeds. The vibrant colors and enticing aroma will captivate your senses.

I presume you mean corn starch and not baking soda in the ingredients. The directions say “corn starch” in the first line of instructions and baking soda in first line of ingredients. Also, oil type/amount. Will try this. Looks good.
