To start this culinary adventure, gather the following ingredients:

  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced (I only had red on hand, so I omitted the green bell peppers)
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup white wine

  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Let’s Get Cooking

Now that we have our ingredients ready, let’s move on to the preparation process for this Italian Sausage and Peppers recipe:

First get your veggies ready – slice your onion and bell peppers and mince garlic.

Sear the Sausages: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Italian sausages and cook until browned on all sides. This step adds a delightful smoky flavor to the dish.  Remove the Sausages: Once the sausages are nicely seared, transfer them to a plate and set aside.
